The Number One Site for Treme Fans - an HBO TV Show!

Bunk was my favourite actor in The Wire - and it’s great to see him in this first image in Treme which is hosted on the official website.

Treme is drawing closer to it’s April launch date. I haven’t updated the site for a while due to a lack of Treme news, but there have been a few new developments recently.

Of most interest is the fact that the Treme website has now launched at HBO.com. It includes the details of the cast, more background information, and information on a Treme hashtag on Twitter.

Have read in various media sources this week that Treme will be airing on HBO starting in April 2010. We are now getting lots of visitors to this site, so buzz is definetly building!

The Laffite housing complex , part of Treme, is gone, one of the four brick housing complexes that survived the storm, but were inexplicabily demolished after Katrina, giving their residents no place to come home to live in New Orleans.”

There’s an interview with Steve Zahn here where he talks about his forthcoming role in Treme. Apparently he will play a musician named ‘Davis.’

HBO announced an April launch for “Treme,” the New Orleans-set drama from “The Wire” creator David Simon on Thursday, and officially renewed the Louisiana-set Vampire drama “True Blood.”

Simon shot the pilot for “Treme,” set in the city’s second-line and Mardi Gras Indian scene, earlier this year in New Orleans. Production on the rest of the first season is expected to begin in November

What can you tell us about the new TV series that HBO has acquired?
It’s primarily about musicians returning to their neighborhood four months after the hurricane and trying to rebuild their lives. It will also have cool music with the hottest New Orleans musicians. The show will have the realistic tone of ‘The Wire’ minus the drug crime.

What will you do?
I’ve written one episode and will do more. I was asked to produce, but I have a family and can’t move to New Orleans for seven months. It was tempting. I’ve been hanging out there, and it’s a city that gets in your blood very quickly.
